1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading and using the Vocara application, you accept these terms of use. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the application.
2. Service Description
Vocara is an iOS vocabulary learning application that works entirely offline. The application allows you to:
- Scan documents to extract vocabulary
- Create and manage vocabulary lessons
- Organize lessons into courses
- Manage multiple user profiles on the same device
- Share lessons between users
3. License to Use
Vocara grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the application for personal and non-commercial purposes.
You are not authorized to:
- Copy, modify or distribute the application
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the application
- Use the application for commercial purposes without authorization
- Remove copyright notices or other proprietary notices
4. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights relating to Vocara, including source code, designs, logos and content, belong to Bruno de l'Escaille.
User-created content (lessons, scanned vocabulary) remains the property of their creators.
5. Offline Operation
Vocara operates 100% offline and does not collect any personal data. All data is stored locally on your device.
You are responsible for:
- Backing up your data via iCloud or other means
- Managing storage space on your device
- The security of your device and data
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Vocara lawfully and in compliance with all applicable laws. You agree not to:
- Scan or store illegal, offensive or copyrighted content without authorization
- Use the application to harm other persons or entities
- Attempt to disrupt the operation of the application
7. Limitation of Liability
Vocara is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We do not warrant that the application will be error-free or operate without interruption
- We are not responsible for data loss or any damage resulting from the use of the application
- Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the application, if any
8. Updates and Modifications
We reserve the right to:
- Update or modify the application at any time
- Modify these terms of use
- Cease providing the application or certain features
Significant changes will be communicated via App Store release notes.
9. Termination
You may stop using Vocara at any time by uninstalling the application. We may terminate your access to the application in case of violation of these terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, Belgium.
